This setup consists of a customized lab lifting floor furnace manufactured by the company Thermostar. The furnace is capable of reaching temperatures of up to 1250 °C which is sufficient for most ceramziation procedures. In addition the furnace is coupled with a high-voltage thermal poling setup to induce thermal diffusion (due to the electrical field) at elevated temperatures. With this process the material properties of glass ceramics can be locally changed. For a homogeneous poling process the sample can be moved (back and forth) inside the furnace by one-directional rollers.
