The 10 kg lab furnace was specially customized to perform batch free time trials on a larger scale. Using this furnace 10 kg of molten glass can be prepared. On top of the molten glass the batch material under characterization can be applied by specially designed applicators. This allows the characterization of the melting in behavior of batch materials on a scale closer to the industrial case.
